Adobo Honey Street Tacos

Adobo Honey Street Tacos

We're heating things up this Taco Tuesday with Derek Wolf's Adobo Honey seasoning, available online and in-store at City Supply! This super easy recipe combines the kick from the seasoning, deliciously flavorful 1 Source ground beef, and a pineapple-avocado salsa that perfectly compliments the smoky heat of the adobo. These tacos pack a punch, but we've provided some recommendations in the recipe below for changing up the heat level by adjusting how much seasoning you use in the taco meat and how much jalapeño you use in the salsa.

With a fun flavor twist and a funky fruit salsa, we went for street tacos with this recipe. The size is perfect to balance all of the flavors in each delectable bite. This recipe can, of course, also be used in regular sized or crunchy tacos, burritos, rice bowls or even as an omelette. You decide how you will experience the burst of flavor you get from this pairing!

Total Time

Ingredients
  • Taco Meat
  • Juice of 1 lime
  • 1 - 1½ Tbsp. Derek Wolf's Adobo
    Honey seasoning

  • Suggested Toppings
  • Cotija cheese
  • Fresh Cilantro

  • Pineapple-Avocado Salsa
  • 1 c. pineapple, diced
  • ¼ c. red onion, diced
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 1 avocado, diced
  • ¼ - ½ jalapeno, diced
  • Juice of ½ lime
  • ¼ c. cilantro, chopped
  • Salt, to taste
Directions
  1. In a medium skillet, over medium heat, brown ground beef, crumbling with a spoon (about 8-10 minutes or until meat is browned and cooked through).
  2. While the meat browns, combine salsa ingredients and gently mix - stirring too vigorously will damage the avocado chunks!
  3. Mix the juice of one lime and the adobo honey seasoning into the taco meat and cook for 1-2 minutes more, just until the meat is well coated.
  4. Fill street taco tortillas with meat and salsa. Sprinkle other toppings of your choice on top - we suggest grated cotija cheese and a little fresh cilantro!
